In a Perfect World: Blog Break

In a perfect world, I would be able to move for one place to another without a blog vacation. It’s not a perfect world, the selling and purchasing of a home is complicated.  I need to be able to focus on that.  I am not guaranteed Internet over the next weeks.

So I am taken a blog vacation until sometime in August when I am once again settled in a new place.

Poetry Friday: Two Poems for Jone

IMG_1077Mary Lee at A Year of Reading is hosting Poetry Friday today. And that’s even while she’s away at a conference

If you have read any of my recent posts, you know this has been a stressful spring.  So on Tuesday, I received this in the mail.  It was exactly what I needed:  the first of several summer poems for the summer poetry swap.  Thank you Irene.

Happy Friday.

Happy Poetry.

Celebrate: Five Star Things About this Week

IMG_0626Thanks to Ruth Ayres for hosting this weekly time of celebrations.

I am actually celebrating that I am writing this post.  This spring has been an upheaval in a good way.  We put our house on the market and it sold.  We are downsizing and hopefully moving into a new condo at the end of the month.  The whole house loan process is stressful.

I am celebrating Sophie (on the right) who will turn 19 tomorrow.  She is in her final days so we are just loving on her a lot.

The principal of our school is leaving. She’s been at the helm for ten years. That’s about one third of my teaching career.  I have appreciated her leadership and my ability to grow because of her.

The weather has bee incredible.  So have the allergies.  But it’s fabulous for going to fame’s markets.

Have a fabulous week.

Poetry Friday Late Edition: “Jabberwocky” Performed by Poetry Rocks

Thank you Jama for hosting Poetry Friday.

Thursday was our school’s annual talent show.  It’s been so fun as both students and teachers get involved.   It was the perfect opportunity to have my Poetry Rocks group perform “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll.  While it was fun to perform at Barns and Noble in April, I missed having the students perform for their peers.

Next time, I will use my mini-Ipad instead of my phone.
