Student Poetry Month: Animal Sound Poems

This week, I’m sharing the work from the room I subbed in last week.

This is a 3rd through 5th grade classroom.

I read Georgia Heard’s BOOM! BELLOW! BLEAT!

And on Friday, I will have an interview with Georgia Heard.

Red Fox

By Koda

I am a red fox
Bark! Bark! Bark!

I love to have families

Bark! Bark! Bark!

My fur is like a wolf
Bark! Bark! Bark!

Yellow Bumblebee

By Sylvia

I am a yellow bumblebee
Bzzzz, bzzzz, bzzzz!

I love to go back to my hive

Bzzzz, bzzzz, bzzzz!

My wings are clear

Buzz, bzzzz, bzzzz

  1. Jone, thank you for sharing. I love the repetition of the onomatopoeia! Really makes the poems come alive!
